My short trip to Nainital

Naintal is a beautiful hill station in Uttaranchal,India. We made a short trip to Nainital in April. We took a train to Kathgodam and then from there, took a taxi to Naintal.

Naintal, famous for its lovely lakes,derived its name from Naini lake. The Naina Devi temple is located at one end of this lake. Naini lake is the main attraction of Naintal. This lake looks stunning at night. It is believed that this lake is one of the green eyes of Sati, Lord Dhiva's wife.

Though we visited many places in Naintal including Zoo, Caves garden,Tiffin top , i was fascinated by the scenic beauty of Naini. I have had a terrific boating experience .

Next day , we went up the Ropeway to the snow view mountain which overlooks the Naini lake and Mall and the surrounding hills .

That evening we headed back to Delhi.

Dalhousie- A Paradise of Nature

Dalhousie is a beautiful and serene hill station in Himachal Pradesh,India, a favourite tourist place for those who love solitude. It is named after the British Governor , Lord Dalhousie.

Surrounded by varied vegetation , it gives a panoramic views of plains and snow covered mountains.

We visited Dalhousie in the first week of May. I was mesmerized by its beauty.

We stayed at Hotel Dalhousie Heights, located on lovers lane, just a few minutes walk from Dalhousie bus stand. This hotel gives you best accomodation and all modern facilities.

Satdhara( seven streams), Panch pulla (five bridges)are prominent places. Panchpulla has a worth seeing water fall and if you are good at bargaining, do shop some good kashmiri suits and pashmina shawls.

Khajjiar , a small picturesque plateau surrounded by dense pine and deodar forests, lies midway between Dalhousie and Chamba. A visit to Khajjiar is a breathtaking experience to tourists. No wonder, it is called Mini Switzerland.

On the last day of our tour , we visited Chamba. Lakshmi Narayana temple is a must visit temple famous for its architectural beauty.

This vacation was a memorable one .
